Region with a privileged geographical position, Sagres is the most important migratory corridor in our country with 2O species of Soaring Birds and more than 4,000 individuals fly over this area, heading for Africa. The Black Kite, the Honey Buzzard, the Egyptian Vulture or Eleonora’s Falcon are some of the species observed in autumn. During this same season, the other particularity of the area is the migration of a great number of Sparrows. The Little Bustard, the Blue Rock Thrush, the Red-Billed Chough and the Spectacled Warbler are some of the resident species that can be seen all year round.
In this natural reserve, we claim to proceed to the observation, -according to the highest standards of respect for nature – of resident and migrating birds in groups of 4 to 8 persons accompanied by a guide. In this area, the experience will last 4 to 8 hours (including transport and meal breaks).
The Algarve, internationally known as a touristic beach and golf destination, also benefits from an exceptional natural heritage as well as a great diversity of habitats, which shows that there is much more to discover in this little corner by the sea. From the mountains to the Ria Formosa by way of the Barrocal, it reckons with a privileged geographical location for the observation of migratory birds as well as of the thousands who winter over thanks to the mild climate.
Seacret Tours, located in the Albufeira Marina, right in the centre of the Algarve, is only 15 minutes from the Salgados Lagoon and close to the main access roads to Barlavento (west) and Sotavento (east) of the Algarve as well as to the Alentejo plains.
